Based in Brooklyn, the Con-solatio team is made up of several full-time volunteers. We work daily to deepen and strengthen the Con-solatio mission in the U.S. and abroad. In a city that moves at breakneck speed, we want to offer:
Our Brooklyn home strives to be, first of all, a haven of peace and hospitality, of joy and prayer, a “home away from home” for anyone who would visit us.
The Con-solatio team in Brooklyn pays regular visits to around 365 individuals and families, many of whom are home-bound and isolated.
We visit two different nursing homes on a weekly basis. For many residents, our visits are the only ones they receive.
Through regular visits to a women’s homeless shelter, the faithfulness and respect of Con-solatio volunteers have instilled hope in a “way out” for many of the residents.
We’re intentional about following up with the friends we walk with accompanying them to medical visits, and visiting them at the many hospitals where they often need to be admitted.
We collaborate with several parishes, walking with individuals as they prepare to receive the Sacraments and come into full communion with the Church.
We cheer up our friends with Thanksgiving dinners, Christmas concerts, and other festive celebrations.
We work to infuse our culture with the balm of a compassionate gaze through movie nights, presentations, and exhibitions.
Through study groups, retreats, liturgical celebrations and Eucharistic Adoration, we provide opportunities for an encounter with Christ.
We are dedicated to our young adult missionaries, supporting them through informational weekends, pre-departure orientation, in-the-field support, follow-up retreats, and Alumni reunions
We are delighted to give witness to the beauty and wonders that the Lord works in our volunteers and through them. We participate in fairs, panel discussions, conferences, talks, presentation.
