Hello, my name is Emma-Leigh J., I’m 21 years old, and I am a soon-to-be graduate of the University of the West Indies with a degree in Management Studies. In 2021, I began to strengthen my relationship with God and found myself questioning what I wanted to do with my life. I knew that although completing my educational journey would be a momentous step, in my heart I knew God was calling me to do something more, something that fulfilled me not in terms of my occupation but in terms of my faith. Struggling with these questions about my life and future, I was drawn to pray and asked God for guidance.
With time, God’s voice became clearer, encouraging me to go on mission. This calling did not happen overnight; it took two years of constant prayer and keeping my focus on God to see the envisionment He had for my life. After hearing His voice speak to me, I began my search for a missionary group. I always wanted to be of service to others, but I also wanted to have a connection with God. Con-Solatio’s missionary work was able to offer me the best of both.
I was able to experience what Con-Solatio has done for so many people from different backgrounds throughout this journey. Through the messages they shared with me, I was able to surrender my nerves to God and trust Him to work this process out. God has called me out of my home to help others see His face in me and for me to see His face in them. I know going on mission will pose numerous challenges, but God has blessed me with the resilience and confidence I need to face them. I look forward to the new way of life I will learn for myself and being able to share it with others when I return.
Going on mission in Brazil is truly a blessing, and I will make the most of it. However, I’m not able to do that without your support. In whatever way you can, it would be a blessing for me. Thank you for taking this time to simply get to know me and my experience.
