Hello! My name is Jeanne-Marie, I am 18 years old, and I just graduated from high school
this past May. I’ve grown up in New York City, where Con-solatio has been a part of my life as
I’ve matured. I feel lucky to have been able to encounter them early on in my life, being
constantly inspired by their own mission stories and the overall love and joy that they radiate.
I’ve always had a desire to go on mission, but I always thought it would be for after college.
However, this past summer I had the opportunity to spend one month on mission with Con-
solatio, and that experience truly changed me. Living with other fellow volunteers and
accompanying people in their daily lives opened my eyes to the beauty of presence and the
power of simply being there for others. That one month left me with a deep joy and a strong
desire to return — and now I am excited to be preparing for a full year of mission in El Salvador!
My hope is that throughout this year of service I will come to know God more deeply and
discover more about myself, by learning to love others and giving myself fully in service.
