Hello! My name is Maya. I am 22 and I just graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Industrial Engineering and a minor in Business Administration.

College was the first time I could choose most things for myself. I was not planning on pursuing faith strongly outside of church on Sundays. The Lord seemed to have other plans. My roommate and I, both non-Catholics at the time, ended up coming to a mass during the first week of school, where we found our forever community. Both of us were confirmed this year and have followed the call that was placed on our hearts!

The Newman Center on campus changed my life for the better. I learned how to love God and my neighbors. I led other women to the feet of Jesus and gave up my plans for the sake of furthering the Kingdom of Heaven! I am so blessed to have these next 2 years in Romania to continue to learn from Him and the community around me.
