Sarah H. – on mission in Ecuador

Hi, my name is Sarah H! Originally from the suburbs of Atlanta, I graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Exercise and Sport Science in December 2024. Throughout college, the Lord placed a desire on my heart to radically set aside time for Him before beginning occupational therapy school – a time to transform my heart in service of others, to give up my time, my comfort, my home to rely on Him to become all of those things to me—to rely on Him to become my everything. I am so excited to let Jesus do so as I discover His presence among our friends in Ecuador, where I will serve for 8 months.

In Con-solatio’s charism of standing at the foot of the cross with Mary and offering a presence of hope through friendship with the lonely and suffering, I have found a tangible model for an integrated life. Everything a Con-solatio missionary does (whether it’s playing with the kids, washing dishes, praying holy hours, etc.) is from a place of being “totally given” because we know that Our Heavenly Father has given us everything in His unconditional love.

It is this love I hope to share with all those I encounter in Ecuador, upon returning for grad school, and for the rest of my life. I pray that you know this love is for you as well! I couldn’t be more grateful that God’s Providence has led me here, and I hope you will consider joining me on this journey! “Some give by going, others go by giving.” Whether it be financial and/or spiritual support, I ask that you prayerfully discern supporting the work of this beautiful mission!
