Hello! My name is Tim! I am 18 years old and the youngest of 8 children. I currently live in Pittsburgh, PA but will soon be departing for Guayaquil, Ecuador!!!
You may be wondering why such a young person would want to spend the beginning of their adult life as a missionary. The short answer is because of God! I really got into my faith at the beginning of my high school career, and ever since then I have only wanted more and more of God. The truth is that I have never felt so at peace, so loved, so pure, and so joyful as when I am with Him. The more I find Him, the more I love Him and want more of Him. As St. Ignatius of Loyola said, “Out of gratitude and love for Him, we should desire to be reckoned fools.”
At the beginning of my senior year of high school I began to seriously discern the will of God for my life whatever pathway that might be. I knew that I needed to pursue His will for my life, but I felt that I needed to grow more before taking that step. I had gone on mission trips previously with my youth group and they always were intensely beautiful encounters of the Lord with the other missionaries that really helped deepen my faith in Jesus. I began considering the possibility of being a missionary once I graduated high school and using the time to more seriously mature, grow in my faith, love others, and really trust God. That is when rather randomly, Con-solatio came into my life. One day I was looking up possible missionary organizations that I would be able to serve with and Con-solatio was one of them. I reached out, and a few months later I was on a bus ride to New York to visit the Brooklyn house.
I am beyond excited for this experience. I know that serving with Con-solatio will surely stretch my heart so that I will be prepared for both whatever Jesus has in store for me and also whoever He wants me to love. Thank you so much for taking the time to learn about me and for your sponsorship! You are a gift to me! Ven Espíritu Santo y despierta Amor en nosotros!!!!!!
