Hi there. My name is Grace Hamacher. As of May 2026, I am a soon-to-be MA graduate of Communications, Rhetoric, and Writing from Ave Maria University. In September 2026, I will be headed to Villa Jardin, Argentina to begin my fourteen-month mission with Con-solatio!

I first heard about Con-solatio four years ago from two friends who volunteered before coming to Ave. The mission stood out to me even then, but quickly faded into the background as a voice deep inside told me it wasn’t time. When I began my undergrad career, the Lord, in His infinite love and mercy, drew me closer to Him than I had ever experienced before. As my friendship with Christ deepened and my studies progressed, so did my desire to love and be loved in a unique but indiscernible way. It wasn’t until I recently rediscovered Con-solatio that those desires made perfect sense.

The greatest sufferings on earth cannot be solved by more money, food, or a new house; they can only be eased by a compassionate presence. For some reason, this radical mission of presence is the exact way I am being called to love in this next phase of life. Please pray for me as I embark on a journey to the Cross of both pain and joy with Jesus and Momma Mary.
