Maria-Regina Y. – on mission in Senegal

Hello !  My name is Maria-Regina and the Lord has called me to spend 14 months getting to grow in friendship with Him and His people in Senegal. I come from a little town called Berlin in NH, where I live with my parents and 4 siblings.
I graduated high school this past summer of 2020, and after starting my first semester of college online to study film, I start to notice a restlessness in my heart and a shift in my desires. Life was too comfortable, too smooth, and I felt the Lord nudging me towards something bigger, something exhausting but powerful, to live my life for Him and not me. Yet I had no actual direction; it was a call I didn’t know how to satisfy, and yet I couldn’t deny it.
That’s when I discovered Con-solatio- and immediately my heart jumped and then rested, and I knew it was exactly where God had been preparing me for, all my life and especially in the recent season. The more I heard about it, the more I fell in love with the beauty of the charism, and by the end of the first information session, I took a leap of faith and withdrew from school for the following semester.
After orientation and some more time of preparation (although, the truth is God had been preparing my heart for this mission for a long long time before I met it), I found myself in the airport leaving for Senegal.
It has already been the most profound growing expérience of my life, a journey that isn’t easy, or even what I wanted, but that is everything I needed and so much more.
I cant express how grateful I am for Con-solatio, for the charism, the friendship and this radical holistic opportunity, which you make possible. I thank you all, and I appreciate so deeply all your prayers for God’s work in Senegal and in my own heart. Keep them coming, and know I pray each day for all of you!
