A Breath Of Fresh Air
By Sofia S. Alumn
About a week ago, I had the blessing of visiting Con-solatio for my re-entry weekend. I was filled with joy to be there and to witness all the smiling faces brimming with love. It was truly a gift to reconnect with fellow volunteers who returned and those embarking on this life-giving mission. The breathtaking simplicity and natural beauty created a serene atmosphere that made anyone visiting feel at rest. After being home for a month and a half, this weekend with Con-solatio was a breath of fresh air.
The weekend was rich with singing, liturgy, prayer, games, cooking, talks, laughter, and the joy of each other’s company. One of my fondest memories was assisting the new missionaries in organizing their end-of-orientation party. We spent the afternoon crafting decorations, cooking, preparing music, and more. It was a beautiful experience to witness both veteran and new missionaries working together with love to create something special for the Con-solatio community, which devotes so much to preparing for these gatherings and beyond.
I found myself immersed in moments of love and laughter, marveling at the beauty of fireflies and stars, and cherishing the reunion with familiar faces alongside meeting new ones, making this particular place feel extraordinary to me. There was something very special about this weekend; it was a place where each could love and be loved, a place where Christ reveals himself.
