A New Circle of Friends in Ecuador

In august we had the chance to visit our son/brother, Tim, in Guayaquil, Ecuador. We could not have had a better time. It was so wonderful to get to meet the Con-solatio community missionaries he lives with; we joined them for daily Mass, adoration and daily prayer and many delicious meals.

We met the families in the neighborhood and were humbled to be invited into their homes to hear their family stories and share a cultural, tasty home-cooked meal with them. We all laughed a lot as we played many games together. Although the language is different, we were able to share many wonderful experiences with everyone. Now we can picture the roads he walks, and the Ecuadorian people who are sharing life and God’s love with him while he is away from us. Because Tim chose to serve God in this way, …we have a new circle of friends in Ecuador and we keep them in our thoughts and prayers as we remember our times together.
