Big hearts in the Big Apple
By Eric and Tammy H., Missionary’s Parents
All our daughter, Maria, wanted for her birthday was for us to go to New York to meet the community. She wanted so much for us to truly understand and appreciate the charism of the mission she was on in Honduras. We were blessed to be able to go and celebrate a weekend with the Con Solatio house in Brooklyn on their feast Day of Our Lady of Sorrows. Oh what a joy and blessing it was! All of the members of the house were so joyful and peaceful. They were all so welcoming and made us feel special.
In the midst of the craziness of the big city there was a serenity that was tangible. We saw firsthand their openness to people and willingness to be present to people in a way that made them feel wanted and appreciated. It was so beautiful and we were able to see how wonderful their mission is. Thank you to all the members of Brooklyn for helping us to see and experience the mission of presence. It was a true blessing and it has changed our lives forever. God bless you all.
