Christmas Caroling

This year was my first Christmas as a convert, or really ever. I was at a Christmas dinner party and someone asked, “Does anyone carol anymore?” It was fun to see everyone’s reaction when I told them I just did that with Con-solatio the other day! We caroled for some people in need of some extra Christmas cheer. Many of them didn’t have family coming in or had limited celebrations – myself included. Some were very moved by our visit. When Nhi invited me to join the caroling group she was forming, I thought we’d start off small with “Jingle Bells” or something simple. But no, she went straight to the advanced ones in Latin or that had alternating voices or that were a bit complicated, like “Infant Holy, Infant Lowly.” Praise be to Jesus and Mary, it worked out!
