I’ve met a woman from Mexico named Rosa. She is 37 years old, has two children, and is suffering from cancer and asthma. She loves to pray the rosary, so one day I asked her, “Would you like to invite our friends to come to your house and we pray the rosary together twice a month?”

She said, “Oh! If this happens, I would be very happy! It would be a blessing from God!”

So we started! At first, we arrived at noon, prayed the rosary, shared life, and every time, she cooked for us. However, she can not work anymore because of her illness, so I felt that it was not good for her to go to all that effort. I thought that if we changed the time to 3 pm, she would not cook for us. So we did that. Yet she kept cooking for us!

One day I said to her, “Rosa, you do not have to cook for us! We are happy to just be here, to pray the rosary, and to spend time with you.”

She gave me a big smile and said, “Maria, do you know how much I receive from God? God has given me everything that I need, so I want to share with you!” After I heard that, I could say nothing. From her I learn how to share and to give.
