As Autumn leaves turned orange and red in Spokane, WA, Melanie and Father Alex traveled to the west coast to spend some time with the friendships formed over the many years since I returned from Honduras. How loved we feel, that they would travel across our big country merely to bless us with their presence. As Jesus’ incarnation is central to our mission, it is important for us to see each other “in the flesh” now and then.

We began the weekend catching up with dear friends and visiting Gonzaga. We had two days of retreat where we were able to enter into the rhythm of prayer, hear a talk and share an iSchool. The afternoons were spent in recreation and enjoying one another’s company- going on a hike (where we were surprised by a moose!) and enjoying the simplicity of a fall festival. We all sensed the many graces given throughout the weekend. We were reminded and assured of our calling within this spiritual family.
