Meet Our 3 New Brooklyn Members!
Andie, Sofia, and Jiale recently joined our community in Brooklyn, NY
Meet Andie!
My name is Andie and I went on a mission with Con-solatio in India for sixteen months. After my arrival back to the US in April 2021, I started a job at the Center for Migration Studies in New York City and moved into my new home with Con-solatio in Brooklyn. It has been an incredible gift to experience how our charism of compassion encompasses every part of life – from sipping tea with a friend in India to praying in the subway on the way to Manhattan. As a twenty-something in the city that never sleeps, I hope to share the beauty of living in a community whose love and friendship with our neighbors flows from Christ’s presence in our chapel.
Meet Sofia!
My name is Sofia and I went on mission with Con-solatio in Senegal and Italy from 2017-2019. I just took a job as Director of Advocacy at World Youth Alliance (WYA), which works to promote the dignity of the human person and person-centered solutions, here in New York City. I came to live in Con-solatio because I believe that experiencing the community, the prayer life and the concrete presence offered to those who are lonely and suffering in the neighborhood will give me the support, intentionality and perspective I will need to serve the Lord as best as I can in my work.
Meet Jiale!
Hi, my name is Jiale. I was born and raised in Shanghai, China before studying at the University of Notre Dame in 2015. There, I encountered Christianity through a genuine humanity expressed through Fr. Giussani’s charism. Now pursuing a graduate degree at NYU, I feel extremely blessed to live with Con-solatio through prayers and true community life here. I look forward to meeting you!
